Chicago Chain Sees Major Labor Savings With AccuBar Inventory Systems 

Highlands Ranch, Colo.-- From two days to half a day. 

That's the labor savings realized by a Chicago-based chain of restaurants and nightclubs since it began using AccuBar inventory systems. And that's just part of the story.

Three-Headed Productions -- which owns Cans Bar and Canteen, Four nightclub and Salud Tequila Lounge -- has benefitted from a streamlined liquor ordering process, a reliable perpetual inventory and other AccuBar features.

"Since we started using AccuBar, we’ve been very pleased with the results," said Kim Bosse, director of operations. "Two of our three places were using a paper system, and switching to AccuBar gives you that visibility so our managers can recognize the excesses in the bar and order more efficiently. We can now compare our pouring cost every week, which we weren’t doing, and that helps us see if there are any gaps or anomalies."

And the labor savings has been substantial, Bosse said. "Now we do inventory in half a day; before it took up to 2 days. And it definitely encourages more compliance. We do weekly inventories, and managers stay with it because it’s easy for me to see if it’s been done."

For a chain with four locations, the six days of labor saved every week is a huge boost in efficiency. With plans to open several more locations, Three-Headed Productions will continue to see the benefits multiply.

"It’s very easy to use, and all of our locations set it up themselves," Bosse said. "I think for us, we have multiple locations with the same concepts, so it’s easy to compare inventory levels and numbers between locations."

"I also like that it forces you to put costs in, so it’s easy to compare whether everyone is getting the costs they should be, and to negotiate with the suppliers to get better costs," Bosse added. "Before, that would have been very difficult."
